Cold-Laser Therapy & Microcurrent
Cold-Laser Therapy
Low-level laser therapy, also called LLLT, uses low-power lasers with light-emitting diodes (LEDs). This kind of laser is also called a cold laser because it doesn’t produce any kind of heat or vibration in the body. Cold laser therapy is typically used for pain relief and to promote healing. It does this by lowering inflammation to the area and promoting the creation of protein and energy. It helps with many types of pain, but works especially well for degenerative, nerve pain, arthritis, athletic injuries, and post-operative pain.
Benefits of cold laser therapy:
Decrease inflammation
Promote tissue healing
Improve blood circulation
Reduce nerve pain like sciatica
Rebalance neurotransmitters
Wound healing
Improve lymphatic flow
Promote good joint health
What to expect
Your provider will take your vital signs, examine the area(s) to be treated, take a brief intake and proceed with treating the area(s). You will lie comfortably on the treatment table (similar to a massage table) and the provider will turn on the electrical stimulation. The microcurrent intensity will be at your discretion, you may feel nothing or a slight tingle over the area. The current does not stimulate sensory nerves, so you should not experience pain or discomfort during treatment. Drink plenty of water before and after treatment, as cells need hydration in order to communicate properly.
Microcurrent
Microcurrent is a therapy that uses electrical energy to stimulate healing. Microcurrent uses microamps, the same form of energy that cells make. Other beneficial electro-therapies, like the TENS unit commonly used in acupuncture, use milliamps.
Benefits of microcurrent therapy:
Digestive symptoms like constipation, diarrhea, gas, bloating
Skin issues like eczema, rashes, acne, discoloration, itchiness
Allergies, food cravings, candida overgrowth
Migraines, headaches, fibromyalgia, chronic stress
Inflammation, swelling, wound healing
Ovarian cysts
Detox protocols: general detox, heavy metals, alcohol/drug use
Acute or chronic injury affecting joints, muscles, bone, nerves, ligaments, tendons, visceral organs, and/or vertebral discs
How does microcurrent work?
Our bodies use microcurrent energy to increase energy production within the body. ATP (our body’s chemical energy) is increased with microcurrent. Microcurrent also increases the creation of proteins necessary for everyday function, removal of cellular waste in the body, decreases inflammation, and increases repair to cells.

After your treatment
Most people feel an improvement after a single treatment that could last for about 4-7 days. The number of treatments recommended depends on the complexity of the problem. Nutritional support in addition to cold laser and microcurrent is often recommended to help create long-lasting improvements. Some people may feel relaxed, tired, or slightly fatigued after treatment. This is normal and usually a result of the body eliminating cell waste or detoxification. Drinking water, resting, exercise, sweating (exercise or sauna), and using the bathroom regularly can help with this process.
